English: Rocky Mountain juniper growing along the Hog Back ridge line, Paradise Valley, Park County, Montana. This tree sometimes grows as a shrub in this area and elsewhere in Montana. Terminal twigs about 1.5 mm diameter and comprising leaves longer than wide and with smooth margins are diagnostic. Rocky Mountain Juniper and Douglas Fir are the two most common tree species along the Hogback.
