Requests for bot flags

• Before requesting for approval of your bot, you have to:
  1. Make certain to create a user page for your bot account:
     1. Describe your bot's purpose, language bot script is written, what program(s) it uses (pywikipedia framework, etc)
     2. Describe whether it is manually assisted or automatically scheduled to run
     3. Describe who operates the bot, how to contact the operator
     4. Add the bot's user page to Category:Wikipedia bots
  2. Run your bot without a bot flag at least for a week, at intervals of 30 seconds or longer
• When requesting for approval of your bot, you have to demonstrate the following:
  1. The bot is harmless
  2. The bot is useful
  3. The bot is not a server hog
• If a sysop gives you approval for the bot and nobody opposes it, a bureaucrat may grant the request.
• After granted bot status, please modify the bot list on Wikipedia:Bot.

Submit your request.

Wybot

Hi, I use bot at korean (ko:) wiki.

I'm asking approval to run my bot, running Pywikipedia software.

I will use it mainly for interwiki.

Wybot seems inactive after a test operation for just a few days, even on ko:. ほんの二、三日ほど試験運用しただけで、それ以後（韓国語版を含めて）活動していないようです。 --Kanjy 2007年7月20日 (金) 14:47 (UTC)

Erwin85Bot

I'd like to request bot status for User:Erwin85Bot. I'm an active user and sysop on nl: and I'll work on adding interwiki's on nds-nl:. However to minimize the server load I'd like to add backlinks from other wikipedia's to nds-nl as well. So other bots don't have to load the same pages again. The bot will always run manually assisted. In cases where I don't know what interwiki to use, I will simply give up. I've made some test edits, which you can see here. I am unable to run the bot unless it has a bot flag due to en:WP:AWB's protection. I would have to run it semi automatically. The bot uses en:WP:AWB which works fine on 3 wikis (en:User:Computer, commons:User:Computer. tr:User:Bilgisayar). Why don't you restart your test run? I think that it was running properly for about two days. It is not a problem to use AWB without bot status unless too fast. And I won't block it even if the test run would be as fast as flagged bots because it is running with bot status on other projects. Sysops, how do you think? 試験運用を再開してはいかがでしょうか。二日間ほど問題なく動作していたように思います。投稿が速過ぎない限り AWB をフラグなしで使っても問題ないと思います。試験運用中は、フラグが必要な速さで走ってもブロックしないつもりです。なぜなら他言語版でフラグをもらって実運用中だからです。他の管理者の皆さんは、どう思いますか。 --Kanjy 2007年9月5日 (水) 13:33 (UTC)

Although I am asking for some more test run to be done for one week in total, someone else may consider that the test run has already been enough and successful.
