ラッセル・トーヴィー( Russell Tovey 1981年11月14日[1] - ）は映画、TV、ステージで活躍するイギリスの俳優である。
日本語ではトービーやトヴェイと表記される場合もある。

経歴
初期のキャリア
George ToveyとCarole Haynesの間に２人目の子供として生まれ、エセックスのビラリキーで育った。家族はほかに兄のDanielがいる[2]。
Harold WoodのHarold Court Schoolを卒業してShenfield High Schoolに進学した[3] 。
11歳からlocal drama clubに所属して、俳優のキャリアを始めたが、1994年からのTVシリーズ「Mud」にキャスティングされたため、16歳でHigh Schoolを去った。
Sylvia Young Theatre School で学ぼうとしたが、父に反対されて、バーキング・カレッジのperforming Artsでの資格取得(BTEC)を選択した[4]。後に、「もし、Theatre Schoolに入学していたら、もっと女々しくなっていて、今とは違っていただろうし、父のその判断に感謝している。」と語っている[5]。
私生活
18歳の時に、自分のゲイのセクシャリティーについて家族に打ち明けたが、家族間に摩擦を引き起こした。その後2004年、甥の誕生をきっかけにして修復が図られ、現在は良好な関係を保っている[6] 。
ゲイの役を演じたのは、TVシリーズ「ルッキング」でのケヴィン役と、ステージと映画の両方で演じた「The Pass」のJason役でだったが、それまでは、基本的にストレートな男性の役しか演じていなかった[7]。
2009年からロンドン(East London)で同居している、同性のパートナーがいる[8]。
