Notes
Kappa Cassiopeiae (κ Cas) is the bright blue-white star in the lower center area of the image.
The grouping of stars above κ Cas is NGC 146. This is an open cluster and it is located roughly halfway between κ Cas and the top of the image.
Directly to the right of NGC 146 is NGC 133. This is another open cluster and it is the group of moderately bright stars that resemble an upside down Y.
This image also includes the star TY Cassiopeiae, a Mira Ceti variable. This is a very small and unusually red star and it is located in the center left area of the photo.
The image is a two-panel mosaic. The lower panel is from a photo that centers on κ Cas. The upper panel is a photo of the two clusters.
