English: Khao soi (Thai script: ข้าวซอย) is a dish from Northern Thailand with mixed deep-fried egg noodles and cooked egg noodles served in a coconut based curry with meat (most often chicken as with the khao soi in the photo) and served with several condiments such as pickled cabbage, shallots, lime and an oil-fried chilli paste. Laos has its own version of khao soi which has little in common with the Northern Thai dish.
