>The word บาตร has absolutely nothing to do with the Chinese word 銖 at all. It is from Pali-Sanskrit, which is very obvious from the spelling (it has a silent 'r' sound) and the religious context. The original Sanskrit word is ปตฺร (patra) and the original Pali word is ปตฺต (patta). Any Thai dictionary will tell you this. Please fix it someone as my Japanese is not native. Thanks!
