Annotatie : Het hoofdkantoor van de Verenigde Naties was van 1946-1951 gevestigd in Lake Success (NY). Op het moment dat Van de Poll deze foto nam, kwam in het toenmalige Batavia de door de Verenigde Naties ingestelde Commissie van Goede Diensten bij elkaar; deze commissie was eind augustus 1947 ingesteld en was de opmaat tot de Nederlands-Indonesische onderhandelingen die zouden leiden tot de onafhankelijkheid van Indonesië in 1949

Annotation: The headquarters of the United Nations was located in Lake Success (NY) from 1946-1951. At the moment Van de Poll took this photo, in the then Batavia the Commission of Good Services established by the United Nations came together; this commission was established at the end of August 1947 and was the prelude to the Dutch-Indonesian negotiations that would lead to the independence of Indonesia in 1949
