フォルガチ・ペーテル

フォルガチ・ペーテル Forgács Péter(1950年生まれ)は、ハンガリーのブダペストを拠点に活動するメディアアーティストであり、独立系の映画作家である。最もよく知られた「プライベート・ハンガリー」は、1930年代から1960年代のホームムービーを基にしており、スクリーンの外で起きる歴史的トラウマによって破られる平凡な生活を記録している。

1976年以来、フォルガチ・ペーテルはハンガリーの芸術界でメディアアーティスト/映画製作者として活躍している。 1970年代後半から80年代にかけて、彼は現代音楽のアンサンブル「グループ180」 [1] と協働し、同時にベラ・バラージュ映画スタジオで働き始める。 [1]フォルガチ・ペーテルは、1920年代のアマチュア映画のユニークなコレクションであるプライベート・フォト&フィルム・アーカイブズ・ファウンデーション(PPFA、1983年)をブダペストに設立し、この素材を「生データ」とし、彼独自のポストモダンな歴史の再編成を行ってきた。2002年にはゲティ研究所で展示会「出ドナウ記:さざめく川の流れ(The Danube Exodus)」を開催。ハーグで開催されたワールド・ワイド・ビデオ・フェスティバル(1990)で『バルトシュ家族(Bartos Family)』(1988)[2] がグランプリを受賞し、初めて国際的に脚光を浴びた。それ以来、ブダペスト、リスボン、マルセイユ、サンフランシスコ、トライベッカ、ベルリン [3] の国際映画祭で数々の賞を受賞した。2007年には「ヨーロッパの文化に例外的に重要な貢献をした個人や機関に贈られる」[2]エラスムス賞を受賞。2009年にはハンガリー代表としてヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレに参加し、インスタレーション「時とともに―Wプロジェクト(Col Tempo - The W. Project)」を展示。2013 年には、ワルシャワのポーランドユダヤ人歴史博物館(Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw)でクレズマティックスと共同でビデオインスタレーション「遠くへの手紙(Letters to Afar)」[3]、アムステルダムのEYE映像ミュージアム で「おぼろげな火ーオランダ領東インドの物語1900-1940(Looming Fire - Stories from The Dutch East Indies 1900-1940)」[4]を制作。
