リチャード・ジョン・モウ（Richard John Mouw, 1940年 - ）はアメリカの神学者、哲学者。

フラー神学大学大学院の学長を1993年から20年間務め、2019年現在も同大学院で教鞭をとっている[1]。また、ワシントン・ポストが提供するオンラインフォーラム「オン・フェイス」のパネリストとしても長年活躍した[1]。

生い立ちと経歴[編集]

ヒュートン・カレッジで教養学士、ウエスタン神学校で神学修士、アルバータ大学で教養修士、シカゴ大学でPhDを取得した[1]。

その後、ミシガン州グランドラピッズにあるカルヴィン・カレッジでキリスト教哲学の教授を17年間務めた。また、アムステルダム自由大学でも客員教授を務めている。その後、1985年にフラー神学大学院のキリスト教哲学、キリスト教倫理学の教授として任命された。1993年には同大学院の学長として選出、2012年度までの20年間、その職務を全うした[1]。

その改革派神学への貢献を認められ、2007年にはプリンストン神学校からアブラハム・クーパー賞を授与された[1][2]。

他宗派との交流[編集]

モウはキリスト教他宗派との対話を特に重視しており、モルモン教やユダヤ教の神学者とも対話を行なっている[1]。

カトリックとの対話[編集]

2009年、モウは教皇ベネディクト16世の教皇回勅を読み、応答することを全てのクリスチャンに求める公式宣言に署名した[3]。また、2011年11月14日にはシカゴで開催されたカトリック神学連合会長との異宗派間対話に参加するなど、カトリック教会との会話を重視していた。

モルモン教との対話[編集]

2004年にはソルトレイクシティテンプルスクエアで開催されたイベントに、キリスト教弁証家のラビ・ザカリアスと共に登壇した[4][5]。
