Hi Artem Karimov! Thanks for indicating about the articles. I'm not well versed about image file formats but I will tell you the difference I know.
The first thing is that JPEG XR has its own filename extension (jxr). The second thing is that the two formats are registered to the international standard separately. And the most bigest difference I know is that the compression is slightly different. JPEG XR is available with Lossy Compression but HD Photo isn't. That's all, and if you aren't convinced with this I will make a proposition for merging the articles or deleting one or the other. Thanks!!--Kanon und wikipedia 2010年9月14日 (火) 07:00 (UTC)[返信]

You can check here which wrote "There are a few minor differences between HD Photo and JPEG XR; these changes were the result of some excellent work by the JPEG Committee that helped insure the highest possible quality for the approved standard." for your understanding. regards.--Shigeru23 2010年9月22日 (水) 17:23 (UTC)[返信]
Yes, I know, but still the "History" section of the JPEG XR article is the most appropriate place for the old Microsoft specification description. Artem Karimov 2010年9月23日 (木) 12:23 (UTC)[返信]
