削除対象にならないもの

他のページへのリダイレクトにできるようなページ。

正しい名称へのリダイレクトに置き換えてください。検索エンジン、外部のウェブサイトがすでにそのページにリンクを張っている可能性がありますので、そういったリンクからやってくる人達を誘導するためです。

記事名がよくある間違いの場合。

他のページへのリダイレクトにできるようなページと同様に、リダイレクトが適当という判断がなされる場合があります。この場合、誤解を助長しないためにもリダイレクト先でよくある間違いであることの説明を行うことが推奨されています。

中立性を欠いた記事、広告・宣伝の類、個人的なエッセイ、論争になりやすい主題を扱ったもの。

中立的な記事に書き換えるか、Wikipedia:修正依頼に掲載してください。誠意に基づく努力の結果であれば、それが拙い書き方で表現されたものであっても、偏った見方に基づくものであっても、他の何かの形で欠陥があると思われる場合であっても、それが「荒らし」でなければ単に文章を編集することで対処することができるかも知れません。

記事に対する単純な落書き。

基本的に権利侵害などを伴わない単純な悪戯は、削除依頼でなく編集で対処してください（ただし、初版の場合は即時削除が適用されます）。

説明にも満たない記事、間違いがあるもの、読んでいて意味不明なものなど。

無意味な記述を参考にしてください。即時削除の対象となるものもありますが、スタブ標識（{{stub}}）を挿入したり加筆依頼、整理依頼に掲載することもできますし、あなたの手でおすすめ記事や秀逸な記事に仕上げたりすることも考えてみてはどうでしょう。

他言語プロジェクトへの移植対象とならない外国語の記事。

日本語に直し、外国語部分を取り除いてください。【2005-07-23修正】

同一主題の記事がある場合。

記事を統合するか、Wikipedia:統合提案に掲載してください。

信頼できる情報源

しかしながら、自らが事実かつ常識であると認める記述を、出典がないという理由だけで削除しないでください。　たとえば、「地球の楕円軌道」という表現をみつけたとき、惑星軌道が楕円であることを提示していないというだけの理由で削除してはいけません。

Do not, however, remove statements that you believe to be both true and common knowledge, simply because they aren't sourced. Don't, for instance, remove a reference to "earth's elliptical orbit" simply because the writer has not supported the assertion that planetary orbits are elliptical.

もし、本心から、記述の事実は誤っていると信じるのであれば、　記述を削除した上で、ノートページに出典要求を記してください。もし、記述が常識と異なると本心から思うのであれば、タグを付けるか、出典要求をノートページに記してください。人物を対象とした記述、特に現存の人については、"常識"という主張には懐疑的に接してください。噂は常識ではありません。

If you do honestly disbelieve a statement, do remove it and request a source on the talk page. If you do honestly think it isn't common knowledge, do tag it as requiring a reference or query it on the talk page. And do be skeptical about claims of "common knowledge" about people, especially living people. Gossip is not common knowledge.

5つの柱

	Wikipedia is an encyclopedia incorporating elements of general encyclopedias, specialized encyclopedias, and almanacs. All articles must follow our no original research policy and strive for accuracy; Wikipedia is not the place to insert personal opinions, experiences, or arguments. Furthermore, Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Wikipedia is not a trivia collection, a soapbox, a vanity publisher, an experiment in anarchy or democracy, or a web directory, nor is Wikipedia a dictionary, a newspaper, or a collection of source documents; these kinds of content should be contributed to the sister projects.
	Wikipediaは中立の観点を持ちます。つまり、いかなる単一観点をも擁護しない努力をするということです。このため、複数の観点を表すことが必要となることもあるでしょう。そのときは、読者が各観点の内容を理解できるよう、またどの一つが正しいとか最善であるといった表現をせず、全ての観点を正確に記述してください。これは、可能な限り、特に論争に成りやすい内容の場合には、情報源を示すべきであることを意味します。どの版がもっとも中立であるかについて衝突が起こったときは、冷却期間をおくことを宣言し、記事に係争中であることを示すタグを付けて、議論はノートのページで行い、その結果に従ってください。 Wikipedia has a neutral point of view, which means we strive for articles that advocate no single point of view. Recognize that articles can be changed by anyone and no individual controls any specific article; therefore, any writing you contribute can be mercilessly edited and redistributed at will by the community. Do not submit copyright infringements or works licensed in a way incompatible with the GFDL.
	Wikipedia has a code of conduct: Respect your fellow Wikipedians even when you may not agree with them. Be civil. Avoid making personal attacks or sweeping generalizations. Find consensus; avoid edit wars; follow the three-revert rule; and remember that there are 1,417,185 articles on the English Wikipedia to work on and discuss. Act in good faith, never disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point, and assume good faith on the part of others. Be open and welcoming.
	Wikipedia does not have firm rules besides the five general principles elucidated here. Be bold in editing, moving, and modifying articles, because the joy of editing is that, although it should be aimed for, perfection is not required. And do not worry about messing up. All prior versions of articles are kept, so there is no way that you can accidentally damage Wikipedia or irretrievably destroy content. But remember — whatever you write here will be preserved for posterity.
