Plot

[編集]

In post-war Europe, a Gigolo named Daniel is abandoned by his patron. His friend Stan convinces him to play the part of a man named Antoine, an heir to a fortune who has vanished but who looked just like Daniel. Daniel withdraws the money from the dormant bank account, only to find that it is a small sum.

Daniel uses the small sum he has fraudulently inherited to buy drinks. At the bar, he meets Felicia, Antoine's sister, who has not seen Antoine for 15 years. Thinking that Daniel is Antoine, he is overjoyed to meet her long-lost brother again.

Just then, two men appear who claim to have been owed a large sum of money by Antoine's father Norbert. Daniel, Stan, and Felicia try to escape, running all around the town. During this time, Daniel and Felicia bond over their loneliness. Eventually they are captured, but Norbert (whom everyone has thought was dead) reappears, and together with the detectives who were after the two crooks, the men are arrested and the heroes are freed.

Daniel and Stan tell Felicia the truth, and the musical ends with Daniel declaring his love for Felicia, and them kissing.
