Ritsumeikan Uji Junior and Senior High School(立命館宇治中学校・高等学校) (also known in Japanese as Rits-Uji) is a private school located in the city of Uji, Kyoto, Japan. The high school opened on 1994 and the middle school opened on 2002. It is currently one of the four junior and senior high schools owned by Ritsumeikan University, along with with APU and another elementary school.

The high school is noted for its academic rigor and athletic achievement. Since, 2009, the school was administered by IBO as the first legal Japanese institution in the Kansai region that provides International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. From, 2014, the school has become one of the Super Global High Schools approved by the Japanese government.

Junior High School

    Like the high school, the middle school is known for its international school spirit, where 30 to 40 % of the students are returnee or foreign students. The typical snumber of students in each grade is around 10 students. Its English Class is divided into four classes, A1, A2, A3, and Regular, where many students from the A1 class move up to the IB course.

Senior High School

     The High School is the second oldest high school established by Ritsumeikan University. In each grade, there are around 400 students. 

Ikkan(一貫) and Futsuu(普通) Course

Ikkan(means integrated) course refers the course that all non-IM or IB students enrolls from Ritsumeikan Uji Middle School. New students who enrolled from the high school are in the Futsuu (means normal) Course. The 2 courses merge from junior year, where students decide to take Rikei (理系Science-focused) or Bunkei (文系humanities-focused) Course.

IM(Immersion) Course

    Students in this course will study abroad either in Canada, USA, Australia, or New Zealand for a whole academic year.

IB(International Baccalaureate) Course

    The school's IB program was noted for producing a graduate with a perfect IB score of 45 on 2012's November Exam.[1]
