Arranged by Takako Yamada, the representative of WakuWork English, this orphanage was home to children who had been sold in exchange for birds or had become street children. This visit left a profound impression on him and became the foundation of his subsequent support activities.

Together with his colleague Roland Kirishima, he used the collected funds to arrange relief supplies through a trusted NPO and delivered them to the affected area.
