The Girl in Harmagedon is a literary work written in the form of screenplay by Japanese SF novelist,Kazumasa Hirai. It was published from Tokuma Shoten in 1980's.The original title is "Harumagedon no shojo(ハルマゲドンの少女)".This work has been not translated into English but the English title was printed under the original title when the hardcover version of it was published in Japan. Therefore, though some call it "Harmageddon girl", this title is appropriate as English title.

This work can be regarded as a side story or gaiden of Hirai's lifework "Genma Wars Séries" and it features Michiko Azuma,an elder sister of Jo Azuma's.Jo is hero of "Genma Wars Séries" or manga "Genma Taisen".

Why is it written in the form of screenplay?[編集]

In the postscript of "The Girl in Harmagedon"(volume one), Hirai wrote about a circumstance where he began to write this work.

While he was writing a novel, white ants increased and they ate his house. He became busy at extermination of the ants and this trouble made him tired. In this way,his desire to write the novel withered. After such days, suddenly,he got an inspiration. It was an idea of writing something in screenplay's format. In spite of some hesitations, on his principle that an author should obey inspiration,he decided to write "the girl in Harmagedon" .

Plot[編集]

Michiko Azuma goes on a time travel to ancient Greece and meets Apollo and Cronus.
