The Science and Technology in Society forum (STS forum) is an international conference on science and technology organized by STS forum, a non-profit organization.

In 2002, former Minister of Finance and former Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy, Koji Omi, proposed the idea of a science and technology version of the Davos Forum, and the annual meeting has been held at the Kyoto International Conference Hall since 2004. STS forum was established as a non-profit organization in 2006, with a board of directors consisting of 22 dignitaries from various countries, and 71 councilors from 22 countries and regions, and former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was appointed Honorary Chairman in 2014. In 2014, former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was appointed Honorary Chairman.

The Annual Meeting of STS forum is held every year for three days from the first Sunday to Tuesday in October, and is attended by about 1,500 global scientists, policy makers, and business executives from 120 countries, regions, and international organizations. The annual meeting mainly discusses the direction of science and technology in various issues for the next 100 to 500 years.

The STS forum's Board of Directors and Council members also meet in Washington, D.C. in January and in Europe in May each year to discuss the candidate chairs and speakers of the Annual Meeting.

Hiroshi Komiyama has been appointed as a Chairman of STS forum since March 2021.
