Wikipedia:メタウィキメディア

Meta-Wikipedia (http://meta.wikipedia.org/), sometimes called Metapedia, is a web site that is auxiliary to the Wikipedia free encyclopedia project. During Wikipedia's initial phase of existence, discussion about the Wikipedia project often took place on Wikipedia itself, even though such "meta" discussion was not encyclopedic content. Additionally, some users wanted a forum where they didn't have to be bound by Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, so that they could write essays expressing their own opinions on the subjects that Wikipedia covered. In response to these concerns, the writers of Wikipedia created Meta-Wikipeda in November, 2001.

Meta-Wikipedia currently serves as one of three major avenues of discussion for Wikipedians, the others being a mailing list (Wikipedia-L) and the talk pages of individual articles (which are reserved for discussion of that particular article). Originally focused on the English language version of Wikipedia, Meta-Wikipedia has, since its upgrade to Wikipedia's custom phase III software, become a multilingual discussion forum used by all Wikipedia language communities.

Like Wikipedia itself, Meta-Wikipedia is edited as a wiki.
