経歴
プロ入り前
トロはモントリオールのエドゥアール＝モンプティ高等学校とバニエー大学に進学後[4]、2015年にオクラホマ州のセミノール州立大学へ転校した。同校で大学野球に参加し、55試合に出場。打率.439・20本塁打・86打点を記録した[5][6]。
プロ入りとアストロズ時代
2016年のMLBドラフト5巡目（全体157位）でヒューストン・アストロズから指名され、6月20日に契約金25万ドルでアストロズと契約を結んでプロ入り[7][注 3]。7月8日にアストロズ傘下マイナーチームであるR級グリーンビル・アストロズでプロデビュー。2016年シーズンは同チームで44試合に出場して打率.254、OPS.623を記録した。

私生活
トロはフランス語を主に使用するモントリオール周辺で生まれ育ち、両親はベネズエラ出身でスペイン語を母語としていた。そのため、学校ではフランス語を、家庭内ではスペイン語を話し、また15歳までに英語を覚えて、トライリンガルとなった。アストロズ傘下時代では、スペイン語話者と英語話者間の通訳もこなしている[4][18][26]。
