The template can be used by the main category ("Category:Rugby sevens at the XXXX Summer Olympics") as well as its subcategories (such as "Category:Rugby sevens at the XXXX Summer Olympics game reference templates"), as long as the above format is followed.

Parameters:

• prevyear: the year of the previous Olympic handball tournament.
• nextyear: the year of the next Olympic handball tournament.
• subcat: any subcategory that would benefit from this template, e.g. "game reference templates", "group standings templates", "team roster templates".
