ロス・フレミング・バトラー（英: Ross Fleming Butler[1], 1990年5月17日[2][3] - ）は、シンガポール出身のアメリカ合衆国の俳優。
ディズニーチャンネルシリーズ『ティーン・スパイ K.C.』のブレッド役やNetflixのドラマシリーズ『13の理由』のザック・デンプシー役として知られており[4][5]、CWドラマ『リバーデイル』のファーストシーズンにはReggie Mantle役で出演した。
若い頃
[編集]バトラーは、中国系マレーシア人の母とイギリス系オランダ人の父の間にシンガポールで生まれた[6][7]。4歳の時にアメリカに渡り、ワシントンD.C.郊外のバージニア州フェアファックスで母に育てられた[8][9][10]。
オハイオ州立大学で化学・生体分子工学を学んだ。しかし、その進路に不満を持ち、1年で中退した。その後、バージニア州に戻り、コミュニティ・カレッジで授業を受けた後、20歳でロサンゼルスに出てきた[8][9][11][12]。
キャリア
[編集]バトラーは21歳の時、友人が演技の授業料を払ってくれたことで演技を始めた。その後、学生映画や低予算プロジェクトの役でスタートを切った[9]。ディズニー・チャンネルのシリーズ「ティーン・スパイ K.C.」でブレイクし、レギュラー役を獲得した[4][10][13]。また、ディズニー・チャンネルの映画『ティーン・ビーチ 2』や『Perfect High』にも出演している。2017年、『リバーデイル』のレジー・マントル役に起用された。その後、『13の理由』のザック・デンプシー役に起用された[14]。『13の理由』への取り組みを理由に『リバーデイル』のキャストを降板し、チャールズ・メルトンに交代した[5][15]。
2019年、スーパーヒーロー映画『シャザム!』で大人のユージン・チョイを演じた[12]。また、2020年にNetflixで配信された『好きだった君へ: P.S.まだ大好きです』でピーター・カヴィンスキーの親友トレヴァーを演じた[16]。2020年、バトラーはQuibiシリーズ『Swimming with Sharks』でキーナン・シプカと共演することが発表された[17]。
