VisualEditor: let's fix bugs!

Hello Shirayuki!

I'm Trizek, community liaison at the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) concerning VisualEditor. I'm contacting you because Elitre identified you as a translator who may help us.

I'm happy to announce you that WMF is starting to work on VisualEditor input method editor (IME) in order to fix specific bugs concerning Japanese language. We want to track all bugs which happens when you type something and VE displays something else. I'm in charge of collecting this feedback, and I plan to send messages on community pages and to people who speak both Japanese and English, to encourage them to participate. If you have any advice for me concerning Japanese community, please contact me on my talk page or by email!

Visual Editor : final round to find IME bugs

Hello!

Since August, you have the opportunity to help us to find all possible bugs concerning Japanese language. Some important bugs have been reported on the dedicated page or directly on Phabricator.

Now is the last call for testing (especially this bug, that we can't reproduce). We plan to deploy the visual editor to all users on Japanese Wikipedia soon!

Help needed with user script errors

Hello! I am currently working towards rolling out client side error reporting for all our wikis. One of the barriers for doing this is user gadgets which produce large amount of errors.

Most of the fixes are relatively straightforward, and I can make these fixes myself but whenever I try to do this, I encounter the error "This filter was triggered because you tried editing other user's userpage. Make sure you're now editing your userpage with your account. If you surely believe you should edit the page, you can request sysop to edit the page (Add new section)."

Examples of user scripts with errors;

• 利用者:Tietew/submitblock.js (TypeError: (intermediate value).bindAsEventListener is not a function )
• User:Penn_Station/refToolbar.js (TypeError: mw.usability is undefined )
• 利用者:Tietew/hatena.js (ReferenceError: $$ is not defined )
• 利用者:青子守歌/trunk/WhatLinksHereOnDeletion.js (TypeError: mw.ready is not a function )
• 利用者:Marine-Blue/toolbox_nuke.js (Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'value' of undefined)
• User:Marine-Blue/toolbox_block_log.js (Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'value' of undefined)

User scripts can usually be linked to a user, so these errors can leak information about user browser habits. Ideally these would be fixed or blanked if the script is no longer used (since the script throws errors it is likely not working anyway). Although the tooling used to view that information requires an NDA it's in everyone's interest to get those fixed.

Is it possible to relax the edit rights to fix this, or is there another way you would like to oversee these fixes? Jon (WMF)（会話） 2020年9月23日 (水) 19:34 (UTC)

A request for translation

こんにちは

I'm reaching out to you because you have translated a part of the Community Wishlist Survey documentation. The Survey needs you again. I'd be grateful if you helped with the following:

1. Invitation for voting - this is essential and should be translated as soon as possible
2. CentralNotice banner - this has been translated to many languages and just a review may be enough
3. All the rest of the related documentation - might be good to get this translated, but is of the lowest priority.

I've also prepared a Translation hub with colourful tables to coordinate the translations. You might find that useful.
