Requests for bot approval

Summary of the Bot policy

  1. Respect m:Bot policy, WP:B#Additional_guidelines, and relevant policies.
  2. Identify your bot on its user page using the {{bot}} template.
  3. Provide the following information on the bot's user page and an approval request:
    • Details of the bot's task (or tasks)
    • Whether the bot is manually assisted or runs automatically
    • When it will operates (continuously, intermittently, or at specified intervals), and how frequently
    • The language and/or program that it is running.
  4. It is necessary to list all bots which are used on Jawp in Wikipedia:Bot/ステータス.
  5. Bots without approval need to comply with a minimum editing interval of 1 minute and a maximum limit of approximately 200 edits per task.
  6. Bots with approval should maintain an editing interval of 5 seconds or longer.
    • During the peak hours, try to refrain from running your bot, or please keep editing interval of 20 seconds or longer.
  7. When requesting approval of your bot, you should submit an approval request using the blue "Submit your request" button below.
  8. After you submit an approval request, please do a test run in 40 to 200 edits.
    • It is necessary to obtain consensus before you start a test run.
    • If your task is cleaning the sandbox and/or fixing double-redirects, you can start a test run without prior consensus.
    • A bureaucrat may approve your tasks for each type of work listed below and add bot flag to your bot if no problem was found.
    • If your bot needs to perform a different type of task than what was previously approved, it is necessary to obtain approval again.
  9. The bureaucrat will use {{BotApproved}} to approve the request, or use {{BotDenied}} to deny the request. Your bot will then be listed as an approved bot in Wikipedia:Bot/ステータス.

You need to explain the type of bot works to be performed at an approval request. (Script names of the Pywikibot in parentheses are examples. It is not necessary to use the specified script if the editing result is similar.)

  • Type A - Cleaning of sandbox (clean_sandbox.py)
  • Type B - Fixing double-redirects (redirect.py)
  • Type C - String replacement in a specific article list, including link, category, and template changes (replace.py, category.py, template.py, or AWB)
  • Type D - Addition or modification of specific strings to unspecified articles (cosmetic_changes.py or AWB, including correction of specific typos, misspellings or errors)
  • Type E - Maintenance of the page protection templates
  • Type F - Page moves (movepages.py)
  • Type G - Page deletions (delete.py)
  • Type H - Automatic blocking accounts using public proxy
  • Type I - Regular tasks that do not fall under the above types (automatic updates of data that need to be edited regularly.)

        1. まず様子見のために2〜3項目ほどで実行してみる。
        2. 問題なければ、処理対象を増やして実行する。
          • 処理対象のページが多い場合は、何回かに区切ると思います。
          • なるべく目視で投稿記録を監視する等しています。

      • 私の認識では、
        • 全自動運転: オペレーターが寝ていても勝手に実行開始して終了する。定時実行 Bot など
        • 半自動運転: オペレーターが実行開始したら自動で編集を保存する。Bot 作業依頼で単純な依頼を受けたとき
        • 手動制御: オペレーターが実行開始し、編集を保存するかどうかをオペレーターが1件1件確認する。Bot 作業依頼で複雑な依頼を受けたとき
      • という風に考えています。様子見であれば、コマンドライン引数の -simulate を用いて差分がどうなるかを確認することをおすすめします (pywikibot ライブラリを import して API を叩いている場合は、from pywikibot import config2 as config として config.simulate = True とするか、 user-config.py の simulate を True にしても同じです)。処理の終了はターミナルで Ctrl+C を押下すれば、KeyboardInterrupt 例外で処理終了されます。--Yuukin0248[会話/投稿記録] 2020年4月29日 (水) 01:08 (UTC)[返信]

コメント （インデントを戻します）対応が遅くなっており申し訳ございません。Bot申請を歓迎いたします。フラグ付与の前に、3点確認させてください。
  • #「日本郵便のサービス」テンプレート追加での一部やり直しと、#「少年ジャンプ+」関連のリンクなどの修正依頼におけるノートページでの編集は、Botの技術的問題ではなく、運用者のケアレスミスという認識で間違いはないでしょうか。
    • コメント 回答 お察しのとおりで、両方ともに私自身のケアレスミスが原因です。以後は同様・類似のミスをしないように注意いたします（これから先、より多くの経験を積んでいけばこのようなミスを減らして精度を上げていければと思っております）。
  • #「少年ジャンプ+」関連のリンクなどの修正依頼におけるうすた京介」での誤編集は、どのような原因で生じたものでしょうか。
    • コメント 回答 プログラム内の誤字（正確には、不要な文字が挿入されていた）によるもので、こちらも私自身のミスです。この件に関しては、最初のほうで差分を確認しながら行っていたことで、早めに差し戻しで対応することができました。
  • 大学記事末尾の一文（追加依頼）では一部を手動で作業されていますが、この理由は何でしょうか。
    • コメント 回答 依頼対応時にちゃんと説明しておりませんでした。これは、作業対象の文に ある程度のバリエーションがあり、すべてをBotで行うのが難しい（むしろ時間がかかりそう）と判断したためです。それにより、最後の方に残ったものは手動での対応という形を取らせていただきました。

Hello ネイ. I did simple work for the test. I tried to put {{Uncategorized}} in an article that was not in the category. But there is no {{Uncategorized}} on jawiki. 賛成 I agree to this request. All of problems I said have been resolved, the edits are useful and no harm. The discussion is about renaming Category:Uncategorized, you don't have to know the result of discussion. By the way, I recommend you write function details in English (original) and Japanese (translation).

    3. Change indications of own work to {{own}} (Original, 自作 etc).
    4. Relicense the files if the uploader allow it
    5. Fix errors in syntax if any is found

The syntax fix looks fine to me, though you probably want to fix the edit summary where it is missing a punctuation: {{NowCommons|<name}} (I do not think this change requires a re-test). Hi ネイ! I made some test edits with these 3 files:

  1. File:500kei.JPG
  2. File:S-panta.JPG
  3. File:100kei-p.JPG

I made the edits step-by-step. Usually I would do more tasks in 1 edit if possible. But I made them step-by-step so it is easier for you to see what I do:

  1. First edit was adding categories.
  2. Then I added {{Information}} template. (It is only relevant if template is not there allready.)
  3. After that I checked if author = uploder and if yes I added {{own}} in source and username in author.
  4. Last I fixed the license migration syntax in {{GFDL}} so it matches the one used on Commons. (I know that the change of the GFDL to the code that is used on Commons will remove the work done by local users. But the license migration was never finished on ja.wiki. And the local file can be deleted and problem will disappear.)

Then I moved the files to Commons and as you can see they all look good on Commons. I only needed to change one category. To make it even better I should either create the category for files uploaded by Take-y or remove it. And the files could use more specific categories.

I had to fix 2 things manually. First edit: I forgot "-dotall" in code so the bot left a little text outside the {{Information}} template. Usually I edit my sandbox and when it looks good I begin to make edits on files and check them and if I find something that should be fixed I stop the bot and fix and then start again. Second edit: One of the files had no description. It would be possible to use the file name as description if there are many files with no description and the file names are good.

Now that the files are moved to Commons the local files can be deleted. I did not add the speedy deletion tag because then someone may delete the files before the bot edits are checked. --MGA73（会話） 2020年6月24日 (水) 19:17 (UTC)[返信]

Thank you ネイ! Categories could be added after the files are moved to Commons but it will make it harder for me to work on the files. Also if I prepare the files without adding the categories and someone else move the file to Commons then I will have no track of the file and whoever move the file to Commons will have to add the categories.
Files can be deleted once the file is moved to Commons. Admins can do it 10 seconds after I move the file or they can wait 5 years to delete the file. I can't force admins to delete the files - only aske nicely if they will help me by deleting the files :-)
I can do 2 things to reduce the number of English categories: 1) remove them after the file is moved to Commons or 2) work on 1 uploader at a time so that there are fewer files in progress. --MGA73（会話） 2020年6月29日 (月) 19:42 (UTC)[返信]

I made a suggestion at Template‐ノート:GFDL#Subject_to_disclaimers_-_what_is_the_status about a possible change from {{GFDL}} to {{GFDL-ja}}. If the discussion end with agreement that it is a good idea then a change like that can also be done by a bot. Either my bot or someone else if anyone would like to do the job.
I also think that the license update per Wikipedia:ライセンス更新 can be done with a bot. There are 8,184 files in Category:ライセンス更新対象外かもしれないファイル and I think that it is too many to do manually. But before that is relevant I think it is better to ask the users if they are willing to license with cc-by-sa-3.0 or 4.0 and if they say yes then there is no need for a license migration (I fixed license migration for hundreds of thousands of files on Commons).

コメント 編集間隔を1分にしてBot作業依頼を1件処理してみました。橋下徹を編集した際に誤って白紙化してしまいましたが、これはAWBのEdit Box上で手動で修正しようとしたところ、差分の確認ができないまま1分ごとに自動で編集を保存する機能により保存してしまったためです。今後は、手動で修正する際には一度自動保存機能を停止したことをしっかり確認したうえで編集を行うようにし、再発防止に努めます。念のためもう1件Bot作業依頼を処理しています。--129femtoseconds（会話） 2020年7月6日 (月) 18:02 (UTC)[返信]
