ロイド・メッツラー（Lloyd Appleton Metzler、1913年 - 1980年10月26日）は、アメリカの経済学者。彼は生涯のほとんどをシカゴ大学で過ごしたが、シカゴ学派ではなく、ネオケインジアンとして過ごした。彼はメッツラーの逆説やメッツラー行列で有名である。

略歴

• 1913年 レロイ・メッツラー、ルル・メッツラー夫婦の三男としてカンザス州ロストスプリングスに生まれる。
• 1935年 州立であるローレンスにあるカンザス大学でビジネスを学び卒業する。
• 1938年 カンザス大学でMBAを取る。
• 1941年 ハーバード大学で経済学のMAを取る。
• 1942年 ハーバード大学で経済学のPh.D.を取る（この時、ポール・サミュエルソンと友達になる）。
• 第二次世界大戦後、ワシントンD.C.のthe Office of Strategic Services（OSS）で働く。
• 1946年 - 1947年 イェール大学で教える。
• 1947年 - 1975年 シカゴ大学に移る。
• 1968年 アメリカ経済学会の名誉フェローとなる。
• 1980年 イリノイ州で死去。
